Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary & Jaguar Preserve
The world’s only jaguar preserve is a superb place for birding, hiking and wildlife viewing. Hiking trails are well marked and range from easy to more challenging and it is possible to see Howler Monkeys, agouyi brocket deer and peccary. The 128000 acre wildlife sanctuary is a jaguar hotspot and priveds critical habitat to an estimated 80 jaguars. Take a picnic lunch, float down the river in an inner tube and then cool off under refreshing waterfalls.
